Why choose a .SITE domain?

The word is far older than the web. An archaeological site, a landfill site, a storage site, the site of the works: in English as in French, a site is first of all a physical place — somewhere something is, or happens. The computing sense arrived in the nineties, by analogy: somewhere you go. Both senses are still current, and that is what separates this word from .website, which has only one.

The place, before the page

• The word has two living senses. A physical place and a web page: that is what separates it from .website, which has only one.
• It is identical in French. Same spelling, same two senses, nothing to adapt between markets.
• No registration restrictions. No existing site to demonstrate to the registrar.
• It works as an email address too. hello@harding.site fits into very few characters.
