Why choose a .GALLERY domain?

A gallery is not a studio. One shows, the other makes — and they are distinct trades, with different audiences, different calendars and different ways of earning a living. A gallerist lives on hangs, private views and relationships; an artist lives on production. Choosing this suffix rather than .studio states which side of that line you are on.

Provenance

Certificates, ownership history, catalogues raisonnés. In the art market, traceability is worth a share of the price.

What it actually changes

• The word serves beyond art. A shopping arcade, a photo gallery, a temporary exhibition space: the word carries several senses without blurring.
• No registration restrictions. No membership of a dealers’ association to show the registrar.
