Why choose a .CAB domain?

This word is entirely at home in English and nowhere else. “Cab” is the familiar shortening of taxicab, and it belongs to British and North American speech — a French reader will not recognise it as a transport service at all. Within English, though, it has the advantage: shorter than .taxi, more colloquial, and exactly what people say when they are standing on a pavement with a suitcase.

• The word does not exist in French. The only thing to settle: does your clientele read English or not?
• It is shorter than .taxi. Three letters against four: negligible on a page, noticeable on a door.
• No registration restrictions. No operator licence to show the registrar.
• It works as an email address too. book@harding.cab fits into very few characters indeed.
