Canada best domain name

Like all domain name resellers, we must solicit the services of different providers(like Enom or Open SRS) in order to be able to offer you a wide variety of domains at an affordable price.

Our main supplier, Enom, recently announced a price increase of up to 31% for the next year on most domain extensions. This increase will be followed by another increase in 2021 reaching up to 10%. This is an increase of more than 40% in less than two years.

To counteract this increase, we have searched for a new partner that would allow us to keep the same prices for all our domains. We found this new partner with Hexonet.

Our new supplier: Hexonet

Hexonet was created in 1999 with the vision of finding new ways to simplify the management of domain names for their customers. Today, they manage more than 3.8 million domains across 110 countries from their offices located in Canada and Germany.

Hexonet employs some of the best talent in the industry. They are known as the main developers of technologies associated with domains and as the global experts in domain names themselves.

How will this change affect you?

If you’ve already transferred a domain from one provider to another, you may already know that the process is not always easy. You’ll need a transfer key (also called EPP key), to unlock the domain, to initiate the transfer and finally, authorize the transfer.

We’ve work out two methods for the transfer, unless otherwise advised by a domain owner, we will automatically proceed with the method A.

Method A: It will not require any intervention from you, we will do everything it takes with Enom to make the change completely seamless.

Method B: Your full cooperation will be required. You will receive your EPP key in your domain administrative contact email. It will be very important to forward us the EPP key. You will also need to act within 24 hours after your domain renewal.

Method A

On March 30, 2020, Astral Internet will update the email address of the administrative contact of every domain’s names. The email address currently in place will be replaced by our generic address. By doing so, Astral Internet can act on your behalf to obtain the EPP key necessary to transfer your domain name when the time comes. Therefore, no action will be required at your level. Astral Internet will take care of everything seamlessly. To proceed, your domain renewal invoice will be to be settled at least 7 days prior the expiry date, so we have enough time to initiate the transfer. Once your domain has been transferred to our new supplier, you can place back your email address.

Note: Although the email address of the administrative contact is changed, you will always remain the legitimate owner of your domains.

Method B

You will receive by email your domain EPP key for each domain name you have registered with us. This email will need to be forwarded to the generic email address provided in our newsletter. Please note that your EPP key will not necessarily be sent to the address where you’ve received the newsletter it will be sent to the administrative contact email of the associated with your domain names. You can see / modify this address via your client portal:

1- Click on the “Domains” section
2- Then click on your domain name,
3- Finally, click on “Contact Information” in the left menu.

Once we’ve received your transfer code, the next step will occur the day you’ll renew your domain name. You will then receive a transfer authorization email and must respond to it promptly, by clicking on a confirmation link, within 24 hours. Afterward, the transfer process will continue, and you will be notified once it is completed.

What happens if I don’t send the EPP key (Method B) or if I don’t renew at least 7 days before the expiration of my domain? (Method A and B)

Your domain will remain on our account with “Enom” and from May 1, 2020, a surcharge will be applied to your account in order to compensate for the price increase from Enom.

What if I don’t want to renew my domain?

No problem. No need to send us the EPP key. Simply log into your client access and deactivate the renewal for domain. No invoice will be created or if an invoice has already been sent to you, it will be canceled. After those steps, your domain will expire at the end of its terms.

Should you have any questions or concerns regarding the transfer of your domain name, you can contact us by phone, we’ll be happy to answer all your questions.
