Cloud Computing is essentially a new name for essentially existing technology that is becoming mainstreams and widely utilized. Cloud providers offer software that is hosted on a remote server and accessed over an Internet connection. This is what we call hosted services. Add scalability and on-demand availability and you get “Cloud”. As such, a more accurate definition of the ‘Cloud’ would be a hosted service available over the Internet with the ability to scale these remote resources instantly and on demand.
